Good morning, everyone and welcome to my book corner. I am hoping this will be a place where other writers and followers can meet to be inspired by others.
What has everyone been working on? I would love to help you showcase it. DM me.
I am going to start by posting stories I have been reading today.
Word from L Jean on health and eBook
I am still working on my eating healthy eBook, so I am going to skip posting it today. If you want to start reading the chapters, go back to my post Cherokee Nation where chapter 1 is and then there are chapters on my Book Corner 1-4. I think I have a name for it, and I will reveal it and a book cover soon. Everything in this book I have studied over the years especially after my health started failing. It is so important to eat natural things— not chemicals that they put in food.
I know most Europeans eat a whole lot healthier than Americans. We—Americans do not slow down so it is easier to get take-out. The take-out food in America and in restaurants have become terrible. I know this is not all so don’t get offended, but most use the same wholesale food companies that are prepackaged.
My sister, who is a farmer took me to this restaurant for my dad’s birthday and I was totally blown away. The name of it is Sutton’s in Carrollton, Georgia. Everything was home-made and not canned or frozen. You could tell the difference so shop at your farmer’s market and produce. Eat fresh when you can. Take care of your health.
Let’s welcome another Medium writer to our platform, Erica. She wrote her first note and about the upcoming newsletters. They sound very refreshing to read stories for a change. I love fiction and I believe her newsletters are going to be refreshing to this platform. I know I for one need a laugh first thing in the morning to start the day out right.
This is a story about the light shining in the darkness. When it lights other candles, it becomes brighter. I love this story. Alexander has a great publication with stories of inspiration. He is a multi-time author who writes sci-fi among other things. He also showcases other writers on his blog.
Veronica is becoming a household name with her many books, Substack, Medium and LinkedIn platforms. She went from nothing to a best seller. But the one thing I want to point out is how down to earth and hands on she is. She truly cares about her students and wants them to make it. Above, is her next conference for paid subscription. It is the best investment I made. She teaches how you can just take what you know—from cleaning houses to corporate knowledge and turn it into an eBook and monetize. She also teaches how you can take one writing and put it across many platforms.
Most of all Veronica makes you feel like you can do anything at the age or financial stage you are in.
This was such a fascinating story of a travel writer, Kristi who gave a lot of time in Jamaica. but in this story, she tells how life really is— away from tourism. I had found the same thing in Mexico. I found the people giving and warm toward strangers. They didn’t act poor or selfish. They were so happy to share what food they had and always giving little gifts. They welcomed you in their home and made you feel like family.
I just found this article on the Downsized Diva. Lizzy writes how Europe is using so many processed foods. I guess they are right next to America. It is never too late to start eating naturally and learn to cook with spices and herbs.
If you cannot find the time to cook every day, take one day and batch cook. That is the best way for busy people.
Here is a medium story of me being a travel writer. Follow me on Medium to hear stories about life, health and travel.
Here is another wrap up. Enjoy your weekend and look for my Friday Substack on travel. Afteryears with Jean Davis
Wow, Jean, I started reading this and was surprised to find my name there as you hadn't tagged me.
